The Multi-Tech Products (MTP) repair systems have been designed primarily to repair the surfaces of spas and bathtubs produced from thermoplastic material or resin. Selection of the optimum repair system must start with knowledge of the product to be repaired, and its environment. There are many terms used and misused in describing spas and bathtubs. For example, the term “Jacuzzi” is often used for both, although Jacuzzi® is a brand name of the Jacuzzi Whirlpool Corporation. A bathtub with hydrotherapy jets, etc. is a whirlpool bathtub. This product is often called a spa bathtub, but it has different characteristics from a true spa. Most bathtubs are indoor. Most spas are outdoor. A hot tub with jets, etc. is a spa.

Spas can be portable (movable with effort) or in-ground (more permanent). One of the key questions that need an answer to choose the right repair system is “is the repair in a wet or dry location?” Repairs that will regularly hold water for long periods of time should use the very best repair system components. This means the Acrylic filler, a high performance color coat from the Quick Glaze, MMA, or Granite systems, and the MTP K2000 topcoat.
