Rovel® was originally developed by Dow Chemical. Chemically, it is commonly described as OAS or Olefin Acrylonitrile-Styrene. The proper nomenclature for OAS is ASA/AES terpolymer, which is an acrylic-styrene-acrylonitrile blend with olefin modified acrylonitrile-styrene.

It is provided to the spa market extruded on top of ABS, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene. OAS is an alternative to acrylic because it is a less expensive material, but it does not match the performance of acrylic. In 2008, it is essentially non-existent in the spa and bath markets. However, our repair technology is applicable to this product. It would be necessary to verify the color match.
