The majority of bathroom sinks in residential, non-custom, homes are made of steel or cast iron with a ceramic porcelain enamel finish similar to the bathtubs described in that section. Custom homes may have these type sinks, but may also have solid surface, stainless steel, glass, cultured marble or other special material sink. Apartments, timeshares, townhomes, condominiums, and hotels frequently have cultured marble basins that are an integral part of the countertop.
